YOU Wings

YOU Wings is a Malaysian airline based in Ipoh, Malaysia. It is a domestic and international airline and started operations in May 2014. YOU Wings is an operator for Sriwijaya Air, an Indonesian Airline and borrows management styles and assets from the company. It connects destinations in South East Asia.

History

YOU Wings started life as Flying Fox Airways which served Malaysia and flew domestic and regional routes in the country. With middling demand and financial success, it took on Sriwijaya Air as a partner and with new investment and a board reshuffle, rebranded itself as YOU Wings. Flying Fox was based in Ipoh's Sultan Azlan Shah Airport and with the rebranding, the airline shifted to Bayan Lepas Airport.

The airline was set up by Daniel Lee who was in charge of Mega Dynasty's Mega Rewards loyalty program and Mega Dynasty Developments.

Management and Ownership

YOU Wings is based in Ipoh at the Bayan Lepas Airport which it uses as its hub. Daniel Lee is the CEO of the company. Sriwijaya Air is a major shareholder.

Flights Operated

YOU Wings currently flies on two routes: Penang to Medan and Kuala Terrengganu to Medan. It has announced plans to fly to Dhaka, Bangladesh as well as intentions to expand into Thailand, Singapore, China, Macau, Japan and Australia. It plans to offer flights to Shenzhen and Guangzhou in China in the near future.

Fleet

It leases all its planes from Sriwijaya Air and has a fleet of Boeing 737-300s.

Other Services

YOU Wings is in a partnership with Mega Dynasty Developments to offer a competitive frequent flier program. It is called the Mega Rewards program and points are accumulated through both flights and other merchants that have decided to participate in the program.
