The Taping Airport is a public/military airport located at Creagh, now Jalan Muzaffar road and is also known as Tekah airport.
It was built in 1929 and was the first airfield in Perak, Malaysia. It is the oldest airport in Malaysia.
The airport was initially built by the British for non-military activities. It was selected as the Global Flying Hospitals hub but later it was decided that it was not fit for the purpose because of the short runway which hinders some aircrafts.
It is operated by MINDEF and serves Taiping. The airport is known by the IATA code TPG and ICAO code WMBI.
