Another Piece of MH370 Possibly Found

Johnny Begue could make a profession out of finding pieces of the missing Malaysia Airlines MH370. After stumbling upon a flaperon last June on the coast of Reunion Island, the local man has recently spotted another possible piece of the crashed plane on the stony beach of French Island in the Indian Ocean.

Mr Begue explained how he came by this discovery:

I was running. After, when I stopped to rest, that’s when I found the piece, lying on the stony beach several meters from the water. The same beach and nearly the same place.

Saint Denis Gendarmerie Confirmed it Received the Piece

Just like after his previous discovery, he immediately notified the authorities. A special gendarmerie air brigade in Saint Denis confirmed it received the item.

According to Begue, the piece had the same lightweight construction as the flaperon he found last year. The wing part had a serial number on it and, after it was sent and tested by the French Accident Investigation Bureau in its lab near the city of Toulouse, it was confirmed to be a part of a Boeing 777 and the missing Malaysian Airlines aircraft.

Begue said the part he found looks similar to the one he discovered earlier, but that he isn’t sure if it is indeed a part of the MH370 or not. That, after all, is on the experts in Toulouse to find out.

According to the Michael Masseaux, the initial examination of the piece will be done by the gendarmerie. After this, the piece will be sent to France for further testing.

Begue said he recently filed a lawsuit against Malaysia Airline Berhad in China. He said he didn’t do this for the money, but hoping that this will bring some much needed answers about what really happened to the MH370.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014 somewhere over the Indian Ocean. Despite a long search, the fate of the plane is still a mystery as only the aforementioned flaperon was found and confirmed to be a part of the aircraft.

The plane was carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Beijing.
