18th Aug 2014

Asia's low-cost behemoth AirAsia Bhd. has continued its innovative pursuit in offering customers an exciting travel experience every time they fly.

Now, in its aim of keeping that promise to their customers, the budget leader has unveiled another exciting product, a distinctive new livery for its fleet of wide-body A330 aircraft. The jetliner, its 21st in the fleet, sports a new look which is both unique and symbolic, a bold expression of its unwavering pursuit for excellence and longevity.

The management of AirAsia X launched a contest last year through the social media entitled 'AirAsia X: Paint the Plane,' urging participants to come up with their own interpretation of any of the seven names provided for. They only need to choose one of these names and form their ideas from the chosen name.

AirAsia X CEO, Azran Osman-Rani, couldn't contain his excitement saying he was very pleased about the arrival of the new plane sporting a new look and hopes it will bring new opportunities ahead.

The new aircraft, they christened Xcintillating PhoeniX, is the 21st aircraft in their fleet. The new livery, according to the airline executive, represents the company's bold, vibrant, and unique values. It was the winning design of Mr. Denzel Yap Shuet Lih.

He said that the company is looking forward to the delivery of more aircraft this year. He further said that the new aircraft will support the airline's expansion plans in the near future, especially in the Asia Pacific region. AirAsia X is aiming to establish a multi-hub in both Indonesia and Thailand in order to offer its customers varied and more convenient options for their travels across the region.
