Low-cost Malaysian carrier AirAsia has long established itself as the aviation leader when it comes to getting a good deal. Last year, the airline made a pleasant surprise for its passengers traveling from Australia to China by offering them last minute flights to Beijing from only $297 return for November 2016. Then it offered a blitz sale for last minute flights from Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Hanoi and select Australian cities from only $129 one way between 23rd February and 31st March.
This time, the Malaysian-based airline is going a step ahead by offering a 20% discount on all seats and all flights across its entire network. This includes both flights on AirAsia and AirAsia X.
Travel must be taken between 7th February and 31st July and AirAsia has reserved the right to exclude some peak periods. In addition, many flights come with a date restriction. For example if you want to fly to or from Colombo, you can only do so between 7th February and 15th March. The same discount applies to flights to and from Wuhan only from 7th February to 25th March and if you want to fly from Kuala Lumpur to or from Wuhan for 20% less, you’ll have to do it somewhere between 22nd March and 31st July.
Still, even with some date restrictions, there are plenty of destinations to choose from. The biggest Asian budget carrier flies to some very popular destinations from Malaysia such as Tokyo, Bangkok, Shanghai, Melbourne, Sydney, Phuket, Manila, Auckland, Bali, Singapore, Colombo, Chiang Mai, Cebu, Ho Chi Minh City and more.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, yes, the discount includes both low fare economy class and premium flatbed seats.
Of course, since this is a low-cost carrier, you’ll have to take some extra charges into account. AirAsia doesn’t include in-flight entertainment, checked baggage and on-board meals in the price. You can purchase these for an additional fee when you book your tickets. In addition, you will also have to pay a $10 processing fee per flight if you purchase with a debit or credit card, although you can avoid this by paying via your PayPal account.
The sale ends on 12th February.
