Malindo Air Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the following about the new route:
Malindo Air is very excited to continue with our expansion plan by introducing Phuket as our latest destination. Phuket is a popular holiday spot for tourists from all over the world, and a favourite amongst Malaysians. With a frequency of four weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Phuket, we are pleased to offer our guests the option to visit Phuket via Malindo Air.
Mr Chandran continued:
KLIA will remain as an important gateway for connectivity to other destinations. This is another milestone for us. Mutual economic, social and cultural benefits can be expected as our fares are very competitive. In 2016, Malaysia received 1.17 million visitors from Thailand, whereas about 1.5 million Malaysians were recorded as visitors to Thailand. Our innovative services will only stimulate the tourism sector further for both inbound and outbound between these two tourist destinations.
