The true fighters are often not found in the ring or the octagon, but in life. Malaysian budget airline AirAsia wants to show exactly that and celebrate these “fighters” through its latest “#AirAsiaMAKNA: Rebel with a Cause” campaign.
The idea of this year’s #AirAsiaMAKNA campaign is to increase cancer awareness and collect funds for the underprivileged patients through the sale of AirAsia pilot and crew-inspired T-shirts.
The T-shirts are available in both adult and children sizes at only RM30. The proceeds of sales will be directed to the National Cancer Council of Malaysia (MAKNA). However, if you want to join, you better do it fast, as there is only a limited collection available for sale.
In addition, AirAsia has invited its customers that bought a T-shirt to post a photo of themselves on Instagram wearing the shirt and in their best fighter pose. So get your guard up and channel your inner Connor McGregor, Donald Cerrone or Melvin Yeoh.
AirAsia Bhd Chief Executive Officer Aireen Omar said:
Cancer affects everyone, directly or indirectly, be it a parent, sibling, colleague or friend. AirAsia is proud to continue to work with the National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) to raise funds and accelerate the pace of cancer awareness. #AirAsiaMAKNA is a testament to our shared mission of fighting cancer and this partnership underscores AirAsia’s long term commitment to support an organisation that helps underprivileged cancer patients and conduct lifesaving research.
She continued:
For the past two years, we have raised close to RM700,000 for MAKNA. We are excited to bring back the well-received t-shirts, which are available for kids and adults. This time around, we are also happy to collaborate with Malaysia’s leading online shopping platform, FashionValet in making the sales available online.
General Manager of MAKNA Farahida Mohd Farid added:
We are honoured to have the constant support from AirAsia in our mission against cancer with the campaign. This initiative is beyond just raising funds, more importantly; it is about creating cancer awareness. These important messages are what empowers the public to take ownership of their health and we are grateful to have AirAsia joining us in this conversation reaching out to Malaysia and the region.
