Malindo Air Now Flies to Hanoi

Malaysian carrier Malindo Air has added its 40^th destination in 13 countries with the daily flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam. The carrier already operates flights from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City, making this its second route into Vietnam.

Malindo Air Flight OD571 is scheduled to depart every day from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9:15 am and to arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 11:25 am local time. The return flight from Hanoi takes off at 12:15 pm and arrives back in Kuala Lumpur at 4:35 pm.

The carrier is now offering promotional one-way, all inclusive fares from the Malaysian capital to the Vietnamese capital starting at RM209 for Economy Class and RM1109 for Business Class. Fares include in-flight entertainment, meals and free baggage allowance.

Speaking about the new route, Malindo Air Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy the following:

In 2014, there were about 286,000 Vietnamese tourist arrivals to Malaysia for business, holidays or visiting friends and relatives. Last year, the arrival growth was registered at 6.7 per cent.

Malindo Air CEO also said this venture into Vietnam would greatly help Malaysia achieve its target of reaching 36 million international visitors by 2020. He also said that Malindo will work closely with both Tourism Malaysia and local travel agents in Vietnam on creating the best promotional and shopping packages for potential travelers.

He also added:

Our plan is in tandem with Tourism Malaysia's strategy of boosting arrivals from Vietnam through health tourism, MICE tourism and increased frequencies.

The new route to Hanoi follows Malindo Air’s recent announcement of starting daily flights to Medan in Indonesia, also from Kuala Lumpur’s KLIA airport. This will also be a daily flight, with FLIGHT OD 322 departing from KLIA at 8:15 pm and arriving at Kulanamu International Airport in Medan at 8:15 pm (there is a one hour time difference between KL and Medan) and the return flight taking off at 7:10 am and hitting tarmac in Bangkok at 9:10 am.
