Malindo Air Now Flies Daily to Hong Kong

5th Feb 2016

Malaysian airline Malindo Air is continuing to boost its international network with daily services to Hong Kong from Kuala Lumpur. This will be the second service to Chinese market operated by Malindo following Sanya in the Hainan Province.

Malindo is offering all-in one way fares from RM399 in Economy and RM1.079 in Business Class. The fares also include a 30kg baggage allowance for Economy and 40kg for Business Class, as well as meal, refreshment and in-flight entertainment for passengers.

The airline will fly Boeing 737-800NG aircraft on the route. The narrow-body plane has a total seat capacity of 162, which will be separated into two classes for this service – 150 in Economy and 12 in Business Class.

Chandran Rama Muthy, Chief Executive Officer for Malindo Air said:

There will be an upsurge of arrivals expected from Hong Kong attributed by the New Malindo Air’s daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. With 1,134 seats per week now available, this could amount to about 59,000 Chinese per year from Southern China taking advantage of the new flights to Kuala Lumpur.

Mr. Chandran also added:

Hong Kong is a very strategic tourist port, and our expansion to Hong Kong is another effort to further boost Southern China’s outbound leisure and business travel to Malaysia. Tourist arrivals from China by the end of 2015 have shown a very positive result with 1.25 million visitors.

Malindo’s CEO also pointed out that Hong Kong has always been a popular tourist destination, saying:

With Malindo Air’s current network in India, we will provide seamless connectivity, and tis will certainly benefit the country as we will enhance Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) position as a strategic transit point for travelers from India to China via Hong Kong.

The flight in one direction (Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong) should take a little less than 4 hours (3:55)

Bookings can be made via Malindo Air’s official website at www.malindoair.com. Tickets can also be bought through mobile phones by downloading the Malindo Air App on either App Store or on Google Play.

The service is available from 5th February, 2016.
