Malindo Air Launches Daily Kuala Lumpur-Medan, Indonesia Flights

30th Aug 2016

Malaysian carrier Malindo Air has launched daily flights between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Kulanamu International Airport in Medan, Indonesia this Monday.

Malindo will use narrow-body Boeing 737-800ER planes, with a total capacity of 162 seats, divided into 150 seats in Economy Class and 12 in Business Class, on the new route.

The carrier is now offering promotional fares for the new route from only RM9 for Economy Class and RM557 for Business Class, one-way. The fares will include in-flight entertainment, refreshments and free baggage allowance.

Flight OD 322 from Kuala Lumpur will depart from KLIA at 8:15 pm and will arrive at Kulanamu International Airport at 8:15 pm local time (the time difference between Kuala Lumpur and Medan is one hour). The return flight will leave Medan at 7:10 am and will arrive back in Bangkok at 9:10 am, local time.

Malindo Air Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the following about the new route:

We strongly believe that this new service that we are providing will have much to offer to stimulate business and trade growth between Malaysia and Indonesia. Medan is a very popular holiday destination with the infamous Lake Toba, being an attraction to most Malaysian travellers.

He continued:

We are glad to offer passengers another travelling option and convenience by bridging the gap between Kuala Lumpur and Medan. Certainly, tourism traffic between both countries is expected to grow with the commencement of Malindo Air's new services.

Mr Chandran also added:

Our fares are always very attractive. In fact, in conjunction with Matta Fair, Malindo Air is also offering exciting promotional fares to other popular destinations such as RM49 one-way from KLIA to Kuching; to Bali and Colombo from RM99 one way all inclusive; to Hong Kong from RM149 one way all inclusive; Perth from RM199 one way all inclusive. Sales period will commence from 29 August and ends on 11 September 2016. Travel validity is from 3 September 2016 until 30 April 2017.

Tickets can be booked via Malindo Air’s website at www.malindoair.com, mobile site mobile.malindoair.com or via Malindo Air App (available on App Store and Google Play for iPhones and Androids).
