Malindo Air Announces More Flights for Hari Raya

Malaysian airline Malindo Air has announced that it plans to add extra flight frequencies on its domestic services from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in time for the Muslim religious holiday Hari Raya.

The carrier has revealed it will increase frequencies on flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching from 21 to 28 per week, from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu from 21 to 35 per week and from KL to Penang from 21 weekly to 28 weekly.

In addition, Malindo Air will introduce some new domestic and overseas routes. It will start operating from KLIA to Miri seven times per week and from KLIA to Kota Baru 21 time per week. The airline has also upped its flight schedule on flights to Bangkok from 14 to 21, Jakarta from seven to 14 and to Dhaka from 12 to 14. All these routes connect with KLIA.

Malindo has also said the promotion sale for these flights will begin on 15th June, with fares starting at RM19 one-way and that this includes baggage allowance of 30kg on Economy Class and 40kg on Business Class. Passengers on these flights can also expect in-flight entertainment and light refreshments.

Sales Promotion Will Last Until 30th June

The sales promotion will last until 30th June and tickets can be used for travel between 15th June and 31st October, 2016.

Airline’s Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said:

We are exhilarated to add these new services right before the Raya festivities begin as it will give a splendid opportunity for families to make their way home. As we recently took delivery of two more aircraft, we are able to introduce new services and more frequencies as part of our strategy to aggressively place Malindo Air in the growing market.

Mr Chandran also added:

We are expecting a wave of travelers comprising Muslims returning to their hometown for a reunion with families and friends as well as those taking advantage of the long weekend break.

Hari Raya or “celebration day” is an important Muslim religious holiday that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
