Malaysia Airlines started its YESS (Year-End Super Special Sales) campaign with a 50% discount on all tickets for the travel period between 1st November this year and 30th April, 2016. Tickets are available from Tuesday 20th October until 30th October. Bookings are available via malaysiaairlines.com.
MAB Head of Sales (for Malaysia) Laurent Recoura said in a statement:
Don’t miss out on the sale as we have the best prices to your favourite destinations. Business class travellers can also take advantage of this opportunity to secure attractive fares for their official travel, with 40kg checked-in baggage allowance.
Recoura also said that ‘On Air Celebration’ service is now available for RM250 for a choice cake (birthday, honey-moon or anniversary) that family and friends can order to surprise their loved ones in first, business or economy class. The cake is available on Malaysia Airlines flights from Kuala Lumpur to Southeast Asia, South Asia, North Asia, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
Malaysia Airlines to Swap Planes on KL-London Flights
Malaysia Airlines also announced that it will soon change the type of aircraft it uses on its flights between Kuala Lumpur and London.
So far, MAB flew between KL and London using Airbus A380s, but that will now be changed for Airbus A350-900 aircraft and will take place in the last quarter of 2017, once the carrier receives the delivery of four A350 planes.
An unnamed Malaysia Airlines Bhd official said the company decided to do this since they were not able to fill the larger A380 even in economy class. The official said:
Passengers load on the morning flight is not good while that on the night flight is better but still not good enough as the yield is low.
MAB A380 has 420 seats in economy, 66 in business and eight in first class.
