Malaysia Airlines Announces New Head of Marketing and New Head of Sales

7th Dec 2016

Malaysian carrier Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) announced on two new names to its organization. As of 15th December this year, the new head of marketing for Malaysia Airlines will be Schrene Goh Miow Ying, while taking position of the new head of sales, effective 3rd January next year, will be Yeoh Hock Thye.

About Schrene

Schrene has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the Multimedia University.

The new Malaysia Airlines Head of Marketing, Schrene Goh Miow Ying is coming to the airline with over 15 years of experience in regional marketing under her belt and has worked in consumer goods, telecommunications and, of course, aviation industries before joining MAB.

Interestingly enough, Schrene worked for MAB’s biggest rival AirAsia Bhd for more than five years. She was the marketing manager there, in charge of the ASEAN region and was instrumental in turning Indian market to profit.

After her successful stint in AirAsia Bhd, Schrene worked for U Mobile as head of marketing, communications, brand and digital. Although she spent only one year there, she did help U Mobile win the prestigious Malaysia’s Strongest Brand Award 2016 in the Telecommunications category.

About Yeoh

The new Head of Sales for Malaysia Airlines Yeoh Hock Thye brings with himself more than 26 years of experience. He previously worked at Delta Airlines as the director for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia there.

Welcoming the new Head of Sales, Malaysia Airlines Chief Executive Officer Peter Bellew said:

On behalf of the management team, I am pleased to welcome Yeoh to the Malaysia Airlines family. Yeoh brings with him over 26 years of experience in revenue/channel management and distribution, airline operations, people management, relationship building as well as finance and administration which were developed through experience and exposure in international carriers.

MAB CEO further added:

I look forward to working with him in driving the development and deployment of effective and customized sales and customer interaction and experience strategies.

Both Schrene and Yeoh should be valuable assets for Malaysia Airlines once they get settled into their new positions at the company.
