Anticipated Demand Prompts MAS To Extend Travel Promo

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) was one of the participating airlines in the recently concluded annual Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA). The event which was held at Kuala Lumpur’s Putra World Trade Centre ran for a three-day period, from March 13 to 15, 2015.

MAS’ campaign results were overwhelming, prompting the airline to extend the availability of the special deals offered earlier at the trade centre.  

Datuk Muzammil Mohamad, MAS Regional SVP advised that ticket reservations can be made through MAS outlets anytime now till March 29, 2015.

He advised those with travel plans till December this year to take advantage of the offered deals right away, stating further that available seats may soon run out.

Muzammil expects flight bookings to shoot up further in a few days following the huge success of MAS marketing campaign. He noted that numerous clients scouting for the best holiday deals attended the MATTA event, the largest travel campaign held annually in the country.

According to MAS, offered fare rates start at RM135 for flights covering Peninsula Malaysia and Sarawak. Meanwhile, flights between Peninsular, Sarawak, and Sabah will cost around RM245 and up.

Special deals are also available for flights to famous cities of neighbouring countries. MAS fares for Jakarta, Bangkok, and Hong Kong will cost RM375, RM425, and RM675 respectively. A visit to Incheon will cost RM1,275 while a trip to Osaka or Narita will cost RM1,375.

Flights to Australia, particularly Sydney and Melbourne will cost RM1,575 while those headed for Hobart and Cairns will shell out RM2,000.

MAS reports that travellers headed for Europe, specifically Paris, Rome and Madrid will correspondingly shell out RM2,499, RM2,799, and RM2,899.

Flights to London via MAS’ A380 superjumbo economy class will cost RM2,499.

According to MAS, destinations discussed above apply to all-inclusive return airfares economy class with flight schedules up until the end of the year only.

On the other hand, MAS advises business class travellers to look out for its special airfares on trips to various parts of Asia. Business class flights to North Asia and South Asia will cost RM4,500 and RM1,600 respectively. Flights to Australia will cost RM4,900 while a trip to Europe is priced 10,500.

Additionally, business class flights to Hong Kong and China will cost RM2,500 while same class airfares covering local and Asean regions start at RM699.
