In a statement, AirAsia X said it has received approval from the United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) to become the first low-cost carrier from Asia to operate scheduled passenger flights to any destination in the US.

AirAsia X CEO Kamarudin Meranun said:

According to AirAsia X, the airline is considering flights to several states in the US.

AirAsia X Returns to London this Summer

Meanwhile, Tony Fernandes, AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes revealed at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland that AirAsia X will resume flights from KLIA2 to London, UK this summer.

AirAsia X initially launched the Kuala Lumpur-London route in March, 2009.

In addition, Mr. Fernandes also announced that the long-haul carrier will start direct flights to Frankfurt out of Bangkok. Fernandes was quoted as saying that he hopes the Bangkok-Frankfurt fare would be set below RM953.

He said:

I would like to offer them for even less. Due to the low oil prices, we could even afford to set the airfare as low as €150 (RM715). We are keen on attracting more Europeans to come to holiday in Southeast Asia as well as to help Asians who wish to explore Europe. We see this as a mutual market.

Benyamin Ismail AirAsia X CEO said:

We are continuously looking for ways to give our guests an enhanced traveling experience with AirAsia X. The content will also be regularly updated to ensure our guests are getting the best quality entertainment when they travel with us.

The tab will be complimentary for all Premium Flatbed seats, while Economy seat travellers can request it on board for a fee or pre-book it through airasia.com.
