Budget carrier AirAsia Bhd is piling up awards everywhere it goes it seems. This time, the Malaysian airline has added the Best Low-Cost Airline from the Business Traveller’s Asia-Pacific Travel Awards. Or, perhaps it is better to say that it kept the award, as this is the fourth consecutive time that AirAsia has won this accolade since 2012 when it was introduced.
AirAsia Honored for the Vote of Confidence, Says CEO
AirAsia Bhd Chief Executive Officer Aireen Omar said today in a statement regarding the award that they are honored to receive the vote of confidence from their guests and Business Traveller’s readers.
Omar said:
This is a reflection of our commitment in providing the best air travel experience for our guest through our most extensive flight network in the region and unrivaled unique offerings. Rest assured that we will not rest on our laurels and will continuously innovate to provide the most affordable and seamless travel experiences for all types of travellers.
Just this year alone we have launched nine new routes, out of which six are unique routes that only AirAsia Group operates on, such as the newly launched direct flights to Goa, India and Sapporo, Japan from Kuala Lumpur.
Readers Were Impressed with AirAsia’s Continued Excellence
Iris Kwan, Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Group publisher explained the reason why readers voted for AirAsia lies in how impressed they are with what the carrier is doing constantly.
Kwan said in a statement:
The growth of low-cost travel in the region has resulted in a highly competitive landscape for the LCC business. AirAsia continues to lead the charge by combining attractive fares with outstanding product, and ever-growing network and consistent service standards.
The discerning readers of Business Traveller Asia-Pacific have clearly been impressed by AirAsia’s continued excellence, and have once again voted it as the Best Low Cost Airline.
Previously, AirAsia also won the World’s Best Low Cost Airline by Skytrax in June (7th year in a row) and was voted Best Budget Airline in The Smart Travel Asia’s Best in Travel 2015 poll (8th consecutive year).
