AirAsia Offers Special Promotion for Sarawakians Flying Home for Elections

Sarawakians that wish to fly back home and participate and vote in the upcoming state election will be able to do so cheaper than before thanks in large part to the special promotional fare offered by AirAsia.

The promotional campaign, dubbed ‘Exercise Your Flight to Vote’, will be available for passenger booking from today until 8th May, 2016 either through AirAsia’s website, mobile website, or via its mobile apps on both Android and iPhone devices.

The campaign includes the following routes: Kuala Lumpur-Kuching, Kota Kinabalu-Kuching and Kuching to Bintulu, Miri and Sibu and the fares start at RM49, all-inclusive, one-way.

Head of Commercial at AirAsia Spencer Lee said:

We are pleased to offer all Sarawakians this special ‘Exercise Your Flight to Vote’ promotion for those who would want to return home to carry out their responsibilities to vote. With fares from as low as RM49 one way, we hope that everyone will take advantage of this promotion and exercise their right to vote.

AirAsia X to Increase Flight Frequencies to Eight Destinations

Shortly after it announced a return to profitability, long haul budget carrier AirAsia X is announcing that it will add frequencies to eight destinations. The destinations are: Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Sapporo and Osaka.

Passengers who are interested in booking can do so online from today until 8th May this year and use them for travel until 24th November, 2016.

However, as the airline said in a statement, the increases will not be immediate:

In the next few months, AirAsia X will be gradually adding flight frequencies to Melbourne (to 14 times weekly), Sydney (to 11 times weekly), Perth (to 14 times weekly), Osaka (to 9 times weekly), Sapporo (to 5 times weekly), Beijing (to 11x times weekly), Shanghai (to 11 times weekly) and Taipei (to 14 times weekly).

In order to promote the additional seats, AirAsia X will offer all-in airfares for the Economy Class from RM259 to Perth, RM329 to Hangzhou, RM429 to Busan, RM459 to New Delhi and RM509 to Sapporo, all for one-way.
