AirAsia Introduces KL-Changsha, China Route

Popular Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia is set to start a new direct flight to China, its tenth total, by connecting Kuala Lumpur with Changsha.

KL-Changsha to Begin 2nd Oct. All-In One-Way Fares From RM88

The service will start on 2 October this year. Bookings are available from 2nd to 6th September for the travel period between 2nd October this year and 31st August, 2016, the airline explained. One way, all-in fare will start from RM88.

AirAsia is actually the second airline from AirAsia Group to fly to Changsha, as Thai AirAsia also operates flights into the city. In total, AirAsia Group flies to 15 destinations in China, for a total of 35 routes.

In a statement regarding the new route, AirAsia said Kuala Lumpur-Changsha should further improve the connectivity between Malaysia and China.

Head of commercial at AirAsia, Spencer Lee said the carrier is looking to grow its presence in China and maintain its status as the largest international airline, when it comes to capacity, to fly into the country.

AirAsia Brings Daily Services to Chongging

AirAsia has also revealed it will soon add a few more flights to its Kuala Lumpur to Chongging, China service. The carrier now promises daily flights between the two destinations, whereas it only operated four flights per week so far. The additional flights should start taking off on 17th September.

A statement from the carrier said:                                  

The direct flights, all-in fare, are available for booking from RM179 until Sept 4, with traveling period from Sept 17 until Oct 24.

With flights to Changsha, fans of the movie “Avatar” will be able to see the famous mystical sandstone pillars. These actually belong to the natural rock formations at the nearby Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and are also an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Changsha is the capital of the Hunan province.
