AirAsia Becomes Official Sponsor of UFC

Airasia is entering the octagon! AirAsia Bhd and UFC have signed a partnership as the former has become the official airline of the increasingly popular MMA organization.

The partnership will cover Asia and Australia and will allow AirAsia to put its logo and signage inside the octagon during the next UFC Fight Night in Shanghai, as well as for selected events in the following year.

The UFC expanded from their first event in Denver to the rest of the US and then to Asia-Pacific and the world, while AirAsia grew from a small domestic airline into Asia’s largest low-cost carrier that now flies to the US. Opposite directions but chasing the same dream and we are thrilled to team up with a brand that shares our drive and vision.

UFC vice president for Asia-Pacific Kevin Chang said:

This deal is an indication of how much UFC and the sport of mixed martial arts has grown in Asia and around the world. AirAsia is an innovative and fast-growing brand, we thank them for the support and we’re looking forward to creating engaging branded content for fight fans and AirAsia customers to enjoy.

The partnership between AirAsia and UFC was officially signed on 4^th November and the Malaysian carrier will begin its international activations during UFC Fight Night 122: Silva vs. Gastelum, which is scheduled for 25^th November.

AirAsia X Starts Kuala Lumpur-Jaipur Service

Meanwhile, AirAsia’s long-haul low-cost subsidiary AirAsia X has announced the launch of a new service connecting Kuala Lumpur with Jaipur, Indonesia. The service will start on 5^th February next year and will include four flights per week.

Kamarudin Meranun, AirAsia X Group CEO said:

We hope it will provide better connectivity for business and leisure travellers to travel to Southeast Asian destinations.

In a statement, the Malaysian carrier also announced a promotional all-in fare from RM229 for Economy Class and RM699 for Premium Class is now available for booking for this route, for the travel period between 5^th February and 21^st November, 2018.
