British Airways Relaunches London-KL Service

22nd Sep 2014

British Airways is revisiting the Southeast Asian country with the resumption of its intercontinental service between the two capitals.

The flag carrier of the United Kingdom used to operate the London-Kuala Lumpur route until 2001 when it suspended its direct service after the global travel crisis that followed the 9/11 attacks.
The airline will be deploying its wide-body twin-engine B777-200ER jet on the route. It will feature four-cabin configuration including its signature Club World business class with 48 seats as well as its World Traveller Plus premium economy class offering 32 seats. It will also offer 12 seats for the First class and 127 seats for the World Traveller economy class.

The reintroduction of the direct service was in line with the carrier's commitment to meet customer demand, according to its general manager for the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Jamie Cassidy.

The United Kingdom has been a favorite country destinations for many Malaysians travelers who want to experience the rich cultural heritage of the country as well as its diverse shopping and leisure destinations.

The onward flight, BA033, will leave London Heathrow Airport at 8:15PM and will touch down at KLIA at around 4PM the following day.

The return flight, BA034, will take off at 11:05PM local time from Kuala Lumpur and will arrive at London Heathrow Airport in the early morning at 5:25AM.

The London-bound flight is strategically scheduled so that transit travelers will have a full-day city tour around London before their connecting flights to anywhere in UK and Europe.

London Heathrow Airport's T5 is a huge complex and currently features three main concourses in three separate buildings. Concourse A alone covers an area of 300,000 square meters of space which also houses 100 shops and dining outlets. Luxurious lounges by British Airways are also found here that provide business travelers an oasis of comfort and luxury.
